The company notes the results demonstrate progress on strategic priorities. USANA Health Sciences reported net sales of $255.3 million for its 1Q, an increase of 6.2 percent over the prior-year period. The company notes the results are in-line with its expectations, and it will remain focused on existing growth strategies. Reporting Q2 results, Natural Grocers noted net sales growth of 8.3 percent to $192.2 million and an increase of 8.9 percent for the first half of the year to $375.8 million, but the company also acknowledged that same store sales were down for the second fiscal quarter. Supplement retailer GNC wants three more years to pay off the $1.13 billion loan it took as part of a share repurchase plan that started in 2013. As it continues to face declining same-store sales,GNC has simplified its pricing and created a free membership option to help lure customers. Herbalife has shaken off the effects of the its settlement with FTC with relatively solid quarterly results that were welcomed by stock traders. The company reported a 1 percent overall rise in year-over-year sales for first quarter 2017, compared to a strong first quarter from last year.
