Dear Colleagues --
Attached is the updated agenda for the USP DS Stakeholder Forum coming up June 7 at USP headquarters in Rockville, MD.
We strongly encourage you to review this program and, if possible, send someone both to represent your company as well as to understand the important work of USP with respect to standards, monographs, etc. Of particular importance will be a continued discussion around pesticides -- a major issue, DNA-based methods for botanical ID, and a discussion on protein standards and analytical methods. And, finally, there will no doubt be an interesting discussion on synthetic bioactives found in natural resources.
I would also note there will be discussion about gummies -- a very hot category -- and the interesting challenges around setting standards for dosage forms with such odd shapes. It's not easy to hit your target ingredient dosage levels with such odd surface configurations. This is something many people probably don't realize.
In short, this will be a very interesting and useful conference. Yours truly is the 2017 chair, so I will be not only attending but actively involved throughout the course of the day. I hope to see you there.
