Dear UNPA Members --
As you know, UNPA is actively supporting passage of the SNAP multivitamin provision in the Farm Bill. On our recent conference call, Peter and Trish explained the urgency of communication to key members of Congress.
I have been asked by Steve Mister of CRN to support a letter to conferees from leading companies in our industry (see below). I am happy to support Steve and CRN in this and ask that you consider signing the attached draft letter.
Time is urgent. We are hoping to send this letter by next Tuesday afternoon. Of course, the intervening Labor Day holiday doesn't help.
Please do what you can. Your support at this critical juncture can make a big difference.
Please contact Ingrid Lebert (ILebert@crnusa.org) by e-mail with any questions.
NOTE: Ordinarily I would send this just to key contacts at each member company, but as I know many people will be out of office, I am sending to the entire group hoping that it will reach someone who can make this important decision.

Subject: Industry letter in support of multivitamins in SNAP
To: Loren Israelsen <email@example.com>
Loren – I understand UNPA convened a call of its members earlier this week to rally support efforts of the MV in SNAP provision in the Farm bill. Glad to hear you are targeting some of the conference committee members. Everything helps at this point.
As you may know, CRN has been circulating a letter of support to the conferees for signatures in the industry. We are now at over 50 organizations, including some food banks outside the industry as well as many companies. I believe UNPA has signed on as well. I wonder if you might circulate it to your UNPA members too and see if any of them would be willing to sign? Our deadline is Tuesday, so not a lot of time, but it occurs to me that some companies who would not otherwise get involved by making phone calls or sending emails, might be willing to lend their name to a letter. Would you circulate the letter (draft attached) and see if you could get some of your members to contact Ingrid (ILebert@crnusa.org) and sign on by Tuesday afternoon? Thanks,
