Dear Colleagues -- I share an interesting piece from USA Today noting the concerns among Wisconsin ginseng growers that U.S.-grown ginseng is now subject to a 15% tariff in China. The question rightly asked, "Will Chinese consumers shift to Canadian ginseng?" -- or will they care at all? Personal opinion: The wealthy, rising Chinese consumer may not really care about a 15% price hike, but what could happen is mischief in the market to push prices much higher using the excuse of new tariffs. I suspect that's a more likely scenario.
Time will tell. Regards, LDI Comments are closed.
